Treatment Options

Julia provides evidence-based, individualized therapy for anxiety disorders, OCD, trauma-related concerns, and related conditions. Treatment is collaborative and tailored to each client’s specific needs, goals, and level of readiness.

Her approach integrates structured, skills-based interventions with supportive, compassionate care to help clients reduce avoidance, build confidence, and create meaningful change in their daily lives.

Treatment Approach

Across all modalities, Julia emphasizes:

  • Evidence-based care grounded in current research
  • Clear structure and collaborative goal setting
  • Practical skills that can be applied outside of sessions
  • A supportive, nonjudgmental therapeutic environment
  • Treatment plans tailored to each individual’s needs and pace

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

ERP is the gold-standard treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). It involves gradual, supported exposure to feared thoughts, situations, or sensations while reducing compulsive behaviors and avoidance. This process helps retrain the brain’s fear response and reduce OCD symptoms over time.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills

DBT skills help individuals develop practical strategies for managing intense emotions, coping with distress, improving relationships, and staying present in the moment. While originally developed for individuals with significant emotion regulation difficulties, many DBT skills are highly effective for anxiety, stress, perfectionism, life transitions, and relationship concerns.

Treatment may incorporate DBT-informed skills in four key areas:

  • Mindfulness: Developing awareness of thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment.
  • Distress Tolerance: Learning healthy ways to navigate difficult situations and emotional discomfort without making symptoms worse.
  • Emotion Regulation: Understanding and managing emotions more effectively while reducing emotional vulnerability.
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness: Building communication skills, setting healthy boundaries, and strengthening relationships.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT focuses on increasing psychological flexibility by helping clients make space for difficult thoughts and emotions while taking action aligned with personal values. This approach is often helpful for anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, and chronic stress.

Mindfulness-Based Interventions

Mindfulness strategies are used to help clients develop awareness of present-moment experiences without judgment. These skills support emotional regulation, reduce reactivity, and improve tolerance of uncertainty and distress.

Trauma-Informed Therapy

When appropriate, treatment incorporates trauma-informed principles to ensure a safe, supportive, and paced approach to addressing past experiences. The focus is on building stability, safety, and coping skills before processing traumatic material.

Clients are encouraged to actively participate in therapy, with a focus on building long-term tools for managing anxiety and improving quality of life.
