A gentle welcome.

FAQ

You don’t have to know exactly what you need before reaching out — it’s enough that you’re here. Many people find their way to therapy at the point where they’re tired of holding everything alone, or tired of trying to “figure it out” in their own head.

There is no rush here.
No pressure to be polished or prepared.
You are allowed to arrive exactly as you are.

This space is meant to give you clarity, comfort, and a sense of what support with me would feel like.

My Approach

My work is grounded in safety, trust, and gentle but effective change. I’m not here just to help you manage symptoms — I’m here to help you feel more steady inside yourself so that life doesn’t feel like something you have to brace against.

Therapy with me is collaborative, thoughtful, and paced with care. Most clients begin noticing meaningful shifts within 6–8 weeks, especially once ERP is introduced in a way that feels supported rather than overwhelming.

I also work frequently with clients who have OCD alongside Autism, ADHD, or trauma histories.

My approach is neurodiversity-affirming and tailored to your sensory, emotional, and processing needs. You don’t have to mask here or edit yourself to fit a template of “what therapy is supposed to look like.”

You get to be fully human — and fully met.

A Coastal Approach to Care

I am based in Wilmington, North Carolina and offer virtual sessions statewide. The tone of my work mirrors the qualities of a steady, grounded environment: calm, unhurried, and spacious enough for you to breathe.

Nothing here is forced.
We move at the pace your system can genuinely hold.

Treatment Questions

What if I feel ashamed of my thoughts?

Almost everyone with OCD has thoughts they feel afraid to say out loud — especially ones that feel intrusive, taboo, or “too disturbing.” You will not be judged here. Intrusive thoughts don’t reflect who you are — they reflect how much your brain is trying to protect what matters most to you.

Nothing you share is “too much.”

What makes ERP different from talk therapy?

Talk therapy helps you understand what you’re feeling.
ERP helps you feel safe again in the places your mind has marked as threatening.

It is gentle, structured, and collaborative — not pushed or forced. Together, we help your brain learn that you don’t have to obey fear to feel safe.

What if therapy hasn’t worked for me before?

This is very common. Most clients I work with have tried other therapy that wasn’t OCD-specific. Once the treatment matches the condition, progress tends to feel different — steadier, clearer, and more hopeful.

You were never “hard to treat.” You were likely under-supported.

How long does therapy usually last?

There is no fixed timeline. Many people start feeling early progress within 6–8 weeks, and then gradually taper as they feel more confident navigating situations that used to feel consuming or overwhelming.

We don’t rush the process — and we don’t drag it out either.
We follow your readiness, not a schedule.

Do you support clients between sessions?

Yes. If you feel stuck or uncertain between sessions, brief check-ins are available so you don’t feel alone with it. Support doesn’t disappear when the call ends.

Are sessions online or in person?

All sessions are currently virtual statewide in North Carolina. Many clients find this more comfortable — being in your own environment often makes it easier to open up and to practice ERP in the places symptoms actually show up.

Is teletherapy secure and private?

Yes. All sessions are encrypted, HIPAA-compliant, and confidential.

Do you coordinate with psychiatrists or other providers?

Yes, with your permission. Collaboration means you don’t have to be the one managing or translating your care.

Cost & Reimbursement

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider, which means payment is made at the time of the session. Many clients are able to receive partial or full reimbursement directly from their insurance using the superbill I provide.

You do not have to navigate this process alone — I will walk you through it if you’d like support.

Why do some clients prefer self-pay?

Self-pay allows therapy to remain:

  • personalized

  • private

  • unhurried

  • flexible

  • and held at a smaller caseload for deeper attention and care

It gives us room to work at the pace you need, not the pace insurance dictates.

What are your rates?

  • Intake & assessment: $225

  • Ongoing 45–52 minute sessions: $175

How does reimbursement work?

After each session, you’ll receive a superbill. You upload it to your insurance portal (or email it to them), and reimbursement is sent directly to you. I can guide you through this step-by-step if needed.

Do you offer sliding scale?

I hold a limited number of reduced-fee spots for those experiencing financial hardship. I’m also happy to help you explore reimbursement so therapy remains sustainable.

When You’re Ready

Beginning therapy isn’t about having everything figured out — it’s simply about not having to do it alone.

You don’t have to feel “ready.”
You only have to feel safe enough to take the next step.

When the time feels right, I’m here.
